Hey Diamonds,

We reached out & asked Athea to tell us about her experience in her own words. Here is what she had to say.

"My name is Athea Ziehmer and I am 46 years old. I am a wife of 29 years, a mother of three, and a grandmother to one beautiful little red headed firecracker. I quit my full-time job to help my husband and son with our family owned business. We have an active lifestyle and are constantly surrounded by family and friends. Over time I have taken care of those around me and have forgotten to take care of myself. My identity was lost, I was Tom’s wife, Tyler-Brooke-Courtney’s mom, Harper’s grandma, and the all-around go to person for everyone’s issues and problems that needed to be solved. My self-worth and self-confidence were simply gone, I had no idea who I was as a person anymore.

One day I was contemplating the path my life was taking and I decided it was time to take charge and remind myself that I am a beautiful woman who can accomplish anything. I needed to “find” myself again so what better way to do that than a boudoir shoot. I had browsed Sam’s photos on Facebook and was inspired by those beautiful women to step out of my comfort zone.

I got in touch with Sam and set up my interview. This was something I had to do for myself and it was one of the most self-fulfilling things I have ever done. I was excited but also nervous about the shoot. I have anxiety but was looking forward to branching out and expressing myself in a new way.

It was a two-hour drive to the appointment and by the time I arrived I was convinced the shoot was going to be a flop. I just knew that the outfits I picked out were all wrong and no matter how good Sam was, the images would not turn out well. Boy was I wrong! Sam is phenomenal. My photos are phenomenal. She was able to capture me in a way I was unable to see for myself. She made me feel comfortable from the moment I arrived and talked me through the whole process. My hair and makeup were perfect. The shoot was so much fun even though it was a workout! When I came home from the photo shoot my husband said I was like a new person. My nervousness about the follow-up appointment and seeing the images was unfounded. I had a hard time deciding which images to keep. Sam did an amazing job and the images are gorgeous. I was beyond impressed. Thank you to Diamond Gal Photography for everything!"
